1. When are you open?
Our standard hours are from 9:00am - 4:30pm. Extended care is available from 7:30am - 9:00am & 4:30pm - 6pm (at an additional cost of £4 per session).
2. How do I make payment for my child at Kidz Camp Essex?
We have several options available for you to make payment, they include: Cash or cheque on the first day your child attends a bank transfer in advance, via childcare vouchers or over the phone using your bank or credit card.

Please note: During the current pandemic, we will only be accepting Pre-payments either over the phone, via a bank transfer or using childcare vouchers/tax free childcare for your child’s stay over the summer to speed up the registration process. We will continue to have a tuck shop on site with a maximum spend of £1 per day per child.
3. Are all Kidz Camp Essex staff DBS checked?
Yes. All our staff will go through our rigorous screening process, which includes on the job training, qualification & enhanced DBS checks. This ensures that all staff members are fit to work with children and good at it!
4. What does my child need to bring with them to camp?
You can opt in for our FREE lunch option when booking. If you wish for your child to bring their own lunch, you will need to send them in with a fully stocked lunch box (which must not include nuts or peanuts or food containing them or traces). If you are sending your child in with foods that are perishable, please make sure there is an ice pack included. A refillable water bottle is also needed, as we offer free water throughout the day. They will also need comfortable clothing and footwear. For any days that have water-based activities - a towel, sun cream and swimwear will need to be included. Due to current restrictions and possible supply issues, we may not be able to offer the free lunch service. We will update you further closer to the next school break
5. What activities will be on offer during the day at camp?
An activity schedule will be released before each camp, which will highlight the range of activities on offer for that Half Term or School Holiday. This will include a selection of Crafts and Sports with a Special Activity daily. To see our previous camp highlights, please visit our Facebook page.
6. My child is very shy; will they be ok?
Absolutely! We understand the importance of settling into a new environment and making new friends. Therefore, we make every effort to get to know the children and help them settle in as soon as they arrive. We also ask that you tell us your child’s likes and dislikes at the time of booking to make this easier for us. Your child will be encouraged to take part in all the activities available throughout the day and to make new friends.
7. What children’s holidays do you run your camps?
We are open every Half Term & School Holiday which include February, Easter, May, Summer, October, and Christmas breaks. Please contact us for more details.
8. What locations are Kidz Camp Essex based?
Currently we are based in four fantastic locations, which are: Colchester, Rayleigh, Romford & Southend. We plan to keep growing into the future. Watch this space!!
9. Will there be a first aider on site?
Each venue at Kidz Camp Essex will have at least one paediatric first aider on site in line with Ofsted’s' framework. This person will also be epi-pen trained. On top of this, other staff members will be first aid trained.
10. Are there discounts available for families with more than one child?
Yes, there are! If you have two children, you can send them in to us per day for £42 (a saving of £10 per day). If you have three children, you can send them in to us for £53 per day (a saving of £25). This offer is open to all members of the same family (Brothers, Sisters, Cousins etc...).
11. Are you Ofsted registered, and do you accept Childcare vouchers?
We have been Ofsted registered now since the Summer of 2017, allowing us to accept childcare vouchers! Go to our Ofsted page for more information.
12. Do you offer discounts to students and NHS staff?
Yes, we do! We offer a 10% discount of total booking. You must show your student or NHS ID card to the venue manager when you drop your children off (or email in advance to head office). You are unable to use another person's ID card.

13. Given the recent pandemic, how do I know my child is going to be safe?
We have set out our company guidance, which maps out how will ensure the safety of you, your children and our staff is kept at the front of our thinking throughout. 14. My child is clinically vulnerable, can they attend?
If it is advised by your GP that they should be shielded at home, then this is what they should do. Parents/carers should follow medical advice if their child is within this category. We cannot make these medical decisions on behalf of a GP.
15. Can I, my child or anyone else in our household get tested for Coronavirus?
Yes! If you or anyone else in your household is displaying symptoms of coronavirus you can get tested. See link below:
16. What do I do if I suspect covid-19 in our household?
Anyone who is displaying coronavirus symptoms, or has displayed symptoms in the previous 7 days, or lives with someone who has displayed symptoms in the previous 14 days, should not attend work or attend camp unless they have tested negative for coronavirus.
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
· a high temperature
· a new, continuous cough
· a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste
