Early Years Foundation Stage

As part of our Ofsted registration, we are included onto the Early Years register which means we welcome children from their 4th birthday. As part of our commitment to ensuring all children are well looked after and receiving the best care, we have an extensive EYFS programme that challenges and supports children who are within it.

A full detailed and tailored schedule will be made available to all parent(s)/guardian(s) before the start of the camp. This will have a wide range of group and individual activities which is aided by the staff who are there to encourage, challenge and support all children who attend. A free-flowing environment is encouraged allowing children to make their own choices creating a stimulating environment.

As part of our commitment to the EYFS, we have put in place a Progression Chart for each child to have so they can complete each time they attend. All children who are part of the EYFS will have an activity tailored around them each day to help them achieve goals on the Progression chart. Improvement is shown through reward stickers that they place in specific areas on the chart. All charts will be kept by Kidz Camp Essex in a folder for when they return to camp. Once the child comes to the end of the EYFS, information gathered by the chart and additional notes  made by staff and projects completed by the child will be used to produce an end of EYFS report.

The Progression Chart and the report will be based around the seven key areas of learning, as set out in the EYFS framework:

    - Communication & Language    - Expressive Arts & Design    - Personal, Social & Emotional development    - Literacy    - Mathematics    - Understanding the World    - Physical Development.
